My mother went into labor with my baby brother on May 18th in 1980 and he was born the next morning. My earliest memory is of being at the babysitter's and watching the sky turn black from the window, and later wanting to go play in the "black snow" because as you might know, Mt Saint Helen's was blowing up.
My brother took his own life on May 24, 1999. He was only 19 years old. Unfortunately, we buried my brother and I was never able to create memorial art for him, something my dad and I have deeply regretted since. But Mt. Saint Helen's was blowing ash all over the place the day he was born and so now, thanks to some awesome people in our community who sent me ash from the volcano a couple year ago, I have been able to create pieces in his honor to raise money for suicide awareness.
Here are some examples of marbles made with ash from Mt. Saint Helens in honor of my baby brother. If you would like to have one of these special pieces made for you to honor someone you love, 100% of the proceeds will go towards suicide prevention. There are many styles and choices available including marbles, pendants, pocket stones and more. Message me to discuss options.
These special pieces are shipped FREE!
